Alanis Morissette
Alanis Morissette, a Canadian was born on the 1st of June 1974, in Ottawa. Alanis is the feminine form of Alan his father's last name. Georgia is the name used by her mother, and she has two brothers named Chad and Wade. She began playing the piano at age 6 and the guitar when she was 21. Alanis released a hit single from 1986 called Fate Stay with I (b part: Find The Right Man). Her albums were recorded as a dance-pop performer in Canada: Alanis (1991) and Now Is The Time (1992). At age 18, she moved to Toronto and began working with a variety of singers and musicians, but these collaborations did not work. In 1994, she finally came across the perfect collaborator: the producer and songwriter Glen Ballard, who had already worked with many musicians, such as Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson and Barbra Streisand. When she moved to LA She turned 19. Madonna's Maverick Records released the song "Jagged Little Pill", on June 13th 15th, 1995. Alanis's tracks were autobiographical. JLP was sold to around 30 million copies around the world and is the most-sold female-oriented album ever. The album is also the 3rd most talked about album in history. JLP was released following emotions (she had thought of not releasing an album) as well as a trip abroad.
